Freedom For Our Sisters
Freedom for Our Sisters is a repatriation and data gathering project helping Sierra Leonean women experiencing exploitation in Oman. Many of these women were trafficked to be domestic workers and have experienced gender-based violence. All have faced severe labor violations.
To our knowledge, this project has created one of the largest data sets on domestic workers in the Gulf, and it is the first to investigate the life cycle of a woman migrant domestic worker from recruitment to repatriation using real-time and near real-time data. We also believe that this project is the first to combine research with support activities on the ground, revealing and addressing human trafficking, forced labour and other forms of abuses among Sierra Leoneans in Oman, and demonstrating the positive impact of justice-based interventions.

Music Album
This album is produced by Sierra Leonean domestic workers in Oman who are seeking repatriation. This group of women are victims of human trafficking and/or labor exploitation and made these songs to tell the world of their strength, their stories, their suffering, their love for their motherland – Mama Salone – and, their gratitude for all those who are helping them go home.
